Abstract

Once esteointegration is an established fact, the challenge, nowadays, is to keep the osteointegration over time, particularly when some risk factors can be identified. It is stated that, among other factors, the biological width formation could be influenced by the implant-connection geometry. The aim of this review is to identify, from the existent connections, which could be the most favorable to the biological width formation. The results described on the analyzed papers point to the internal connections, cone Morse type, with platform shifting as being the most bone crestal preserving.
